Outer Gate, Iolani Palace – Honolulu, Hawaii

I mentioned yesterday, we went on a tourist excursion to Pearl Harbor — on a unexpectedly large full-sized tour bus. That gave me an elevated perspective that I usually don’t experience.

We first did quick sightseeing downtown — including a drive-by of the Iolani Palace. The added height gave me an unexpected photographic opportunity. Shooting over the outer gate with the palace clearly in the background.

As the bus rolled slowly forward, I shot a few, trying to ideally center the frame. I got pretty close, which satisfied my anal compositional tendencies.
