Located on the western edge of Waikiki Beach, Hilton’s Rainbow Tower is a landmark. Along with Diamond Head in the background, they form a classic Waikiki view.
Built in 1968, it features the world’s largest ceramic-tile mosaic. The property started with modest grass huts and low-slung buildings. The 31-story Rainbow tower is one of several high-rise hotels within the Hawaiian Village complex.
I have vague recollections of staying there when I was around ten. My mom, sister, and I met my dad, who was there for a business trip. It’s been years since I’ve been to this part of Waikiki. However, I extensively walked and explored on my 2021 visit.
