A few days ago, I talked about the iconic Rainbow Tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. This may be my favorite design element of the entire complex.
Hilton claims this is the world’s largest ceramic-tile mosaic spanning 286 feet high and 26 feet wide. There is a mosaic on both the southwest and northeast sides of the building. To me, it has an optimistic 60s vibe that I really appreciate.
I made this just before the blue hour. Hand-holding it for 1/4 of a second, courtesy of image stabilization — notice the motion blur of the palm on the left. I made two trips to the Hawaii village. My second was in the evening for the express purpose of blue hour photography.
