As I explored the rapidly growing Ward Village development, I came upon this dog with the owner. I quickly switched from architecture mode to street photography. As I recall, I snapped this picture near Ward Avenue, which is the western edge of the upscale development.
The dog was riding tall, carted around by his owner, looking very satisfied. I shot several angles. This one came out the best, optimizing for the dog’s expression.
I also framed at a wide 22.5mm equivalent which elongated the perspective. Thus the distance from the dog to the owner looks longer than it was. That wide-angle distortion adds a bit more drama. Making the dog stand out even more.
