On the third day in New York City, I finally arrived in Manhattan. Emerging out of the Midtown Tunnel, you’re thrust into the concrete jungle unlike any other in the world. Perhaps the only place that comes close is Hong Kong.
There are fast-rising cities, and New York no longer retains the tallest building crown. However, for the sheer density and variety of buildings, it’s hard to beat. It makes for unmatched urban landscapes.
I snapped this through the windshield as we drove to our first destination — a hotel near midtown to meet more high school friends. It came out pretty good, considering. And it shows off the canyon effect created by the skyscrapers.
