Car Condo – New York, New York

Photographic exploration started again in the morning as I headed southwest from the hotel toward Hudson Yards. While I visited two days prior with my high school friends, I thought New York’s newest mega-development deserved a closer look. One where I can concentrate just on photography.

I saw a lot on my one-mile walk to my first destination, including this multilevel car condo. Documenting is one of my favorite parts of photography, capturing scenes that I find unusual from my everyday context.

Parking is at a premium understandably in Manhattan, thus this stacked design. Something unfathomable for suburban residents with acres of cheap surface parking. I see an unexpectedly large number of Subarus in this bingo-like configuration. I wonder if a car dealer is using this space for excess inventory.
