I was back to where I started my walk after leaving the Top of the Rock, using 50th Street to move from Fifth Avenue towards Sixth.
Radio City Music Hall was absolutely on my list. At night, of course, fully decked out with its glowing neon. It took multiple attempts until I captured an image without passing cars.
Nearly a decade ago, I made this picture from the same corner. Using a tabletop tripod on the ground, I aimed upward to capture my three exposures for HDR. Despite the fancy post-processing, the Olympus E-PM2’s image can’t hold a candle to a modern medium format camera with hand-held image stabilization. Isn’t technology awesome?
