We were ready to go to our next tourist destination, conveniently just on the other side of this archway — so we thought — more on that tomorrow. Sainte-Chapelle, the magnificent chapel I’ve talked about for the last few days, is beside the metal fencing on the left. I took the first exterior photo I featured yesterday from this location.
But more than just a pass-through to Palais de Justice, I like the architectural balance of these structures — simple detailing, yet well executed. Our modern cities lack these details, especially in the United States.
Photographically, I applied perspective correction and am satisfied with the compositional balance — though I’ve cut off the person on the right. Yet, I think the people add to the composition. It’s more dynamic and personable, elevating it above a pure architectural photo.
