I noticed this artist along the same row of street vendors that I featured yesterday. Unlike most wares, which were reprinted drawings, magazine covers, and pictures, she created original art. In fact, she was painting another piece as I photographed her. A line on her display board read “Original Creations by DAVAN, the Parisian Artist.” I guess English is the universal language even in France. I saw no other signs in a different language.
My wife and I briefly considered buying a piece, and I even talked to her briefly. Her works are adorable, perhaps too cute for our decor — ultimately, we passed. It’s worthwhile to support an artist. However, we couldn’t think of a place to display this.
We are still on the upper bank along the Seine River. While you can’t see the water, a few boats are in the background, along with an all-too-common impressive building on the other side.

That has been my experience traveling in Europe as well, English is the most common third language. We missed our flight from Amsterdam to Florence, thanks to a “MOB” of people at Passport control, and it was impressive to watch the KLM agent speak, French, German, English, and Dutch in successive conversations.
We also like buying local art during our travels, it helps remind you of the trip.

Yes, some Europeans have amazing multi-lingual skills.
We did buy a couple of art pieces in France, just not from this vendor.
