I don’t remember the name of this Paris Metro station. It’s one of many I passed through guided by my smartphone app. However, I was struck by its unusual design, which defied the numerous subway stations I’ve seen worldwide.
Of course, I turned it monochrome to add that extra edge of abstraction. Coupled with the architecture and graphic design, this industrial modern station looks like a sculpture — a living one with a practical purpose — the best kind.
There are unnecessary architectural flourishes that make it unusual and visually confusing in an exploratory way. For example, the mirror on the left confused me until I unraveled the mystery. Minimalist it is not, but oh so remarkable.

What were your thoughts behind choosing to convert the photograph of the Paris Metro station into a monochrome image?
Usually, my simple rule is I convert to monochrome it it’s more dramatic.
