A guidebook highly recommended the view from the Arc de Triomphe — I agree. The 360-degree perspective was fantastic, especially since it was the tallest structure in the neighborhood, affording unobstructed views.
Unfortunately, the cloud pattern wasn’t the best for photography — at least it wasn’t raining. The overcast clouds looked cool at a 31.8mm equivalent in this wider view. You can appreciate the Eiffel Tower in context to the low-slung neighborhood.
However, I wasn’t enamored with this telephoto view of the Eiffel Tower. The 120mm focal length filled the frame nicely. But, I found the clouds distracting in this framing, which took away from the majesty of the tower.
