UNIQLO – Paris, France

Japanese fast fashion retailer UNIQLO has an active presence in Paris, listing multiple locations in the metro area. My wife and I visited one near the Opéra Garnier. I’ve been to their stores before in Japan and Hawaii. The Paris store had a considerable selection for the urban dweller beyond the typical T-shirts and shorts in ample supply in their Honolulu location.

The animated stock-market-esque red LED banner appears to be a feature in their international stores, something I’ve seen in Hawaii and Paris, though not in Japan.

I was there for more than a visit, hoping to pick up a knit cap for my Switzerland trip the next day. I was successful in finding a perfectly stylish and inexpensive one. I marveled at their selection. It started years ago with plain T-shirts, like The Gap, in the United States. UNIQLO has now far exceeded the U.S. retailer in terms of style and selection.

  1. I used to underestimate the power of oversized plain T-shirts, but now I’m a true believer. They’re the perfect blank canvas for expressing your personal style. Whether you dress them up or down, they always look effortlessly chic.
