Hail Ceasars

Caesars Palace Complex – Las Vegas, Nevada

Caesars Palace is composed of multiple buildings on a sizable property. It has the look of organic growth, where they added buildings over many years. Despite the difference in height and facades, common elements such as the triangular pediments and Corinthian Columns create coherence.

The tall towers on the left, which act as a wall to the property, are the same buildings I featured yesterday from the street side. I found a pond in the interior that amplified the architecture with reflections.

Notice the statue’s resemblance to this exhibit from the Louvre in Paris. It’s called the Winged Victory of Samothrace. I’m sure you can guess which is the original.

Caesars Palace Temple - Las Vegas, Nevada

This temple-looking structure is further down but close by, next to the sidewalk. With easy public access, it looks more worn with graffiti. By looking less pristine, perhaps that makes it more authentic.

Caesars Palace Fountain - Las Vegas, Nevada

I found this fountain at the northern end of the Caesars complex next to The Forum Shops, the over-the-top statue-festooned shopping mall. It’s quite a sight and unlike your typical suburban version. We head there tomorrow.
