I posted one picture of the Luxor lobby at the start of this Las Vegas Series. That was when I checked in. A couple of days later, I further explored the faux ancient Egyptian theming. And while the Luxor is on the lower end of the fancy scale on the Strip, it’s right up there in uniqueness.
After visiting many of the hotels, you realize most are boxes embellished with various levels of adornment — typically, the fancier they are, the more stuff is added with nicer materials. The Luxor is different because the open atrium is inside a giant pyramid. To that, the hotel added these ancient Egyptian-inspired architecture and sculptures.
The entire design might be too much for some. However, the Luxor does create a one-of-a-kind environment that takes you to a mysterious world called Las Vegas.
