I arrived in Zurich, Switzerland, after taking this regional Swiss train from Basel. You can see it’s a modern, stylish train on the outside, though a bit dirty. However, unlike the TGV we boarded in Paris, the paint wasn’t damaged or faded. But, it still pales in comparison to the Japanese train experience.
Zurich station appears minimalist, with timeless contemporary architecture. Although, it also has a cold, industrial look that seems less friendly.
I used a leading line trick again, this time from the center of the station looking west. The structure has an orderly, structured appearance. Does it seem this way because of my stereotyped impression of Switzerland, or is it truly an accurate description due to an existing Swiss aesthetic?
