A Last Look at the Matterhorn

Matterhorn - Zermatt, Switzerland

Matterhorn – Zermatt, Switzerland

We headed to the restaurant after an hour of sightseeing and souvenir hunting in downtown Zermatt. We crossed a river, and I noticed part of the Matterhorn as we approached sunset.

I conveniently used the river as a leading line that pulls the viewer into the landscape. Even though this looks quite rural, the compact downtown is just to the right. Zermatt, a small town, is nestled in a landscape of immense beauty.

It was a successful day of tourism, and I was thrilled, especially for my mom, that we could see the Matterhorn. The day started out iffy but ended well. My wife and I were looking forward to dinner. We worked up an appetite hiking down the mountain.
