Banksy

Banksy, Montmartre – Paris, France

I’m not particularly knowledgeable about artists, especially ones who work on the street. However, this piece looked Banksy-like, so I took a snapshot.

After searching the internet, it seems to confirm my suspicions, though not conclusively. I found this website that talks about eight red riding hood and wolf street art pieces. My Google search also referenced the same art piece I shot, which was attributed to this famous street artist.

The notion of a signature style is fascinating. Why did I think this was a Banksy even though I never saw it before? Apparently, there were enough artistic design elements that made me categorize it as such. Vincent van Goh has many iconic paintings, some of which I can identify, but would I recognize his other works that are less famous?

Finally, as a creative — I’m not presumptuous as calling myself an artist — do I have a signature style? I repeat similar framing techniques and have preferred subjects, but are these enough to develop an atmtx look? I doubt it, but you can be the judge.
