Jack Sparrow, who I featured yesterday, wasn’t the only cosplay character at Precision Camera’s pre-Halloween event. Here’s Pennywise looking adequately creepy with the red balloon.

While I recognized Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I was mostly unfamiliar with this character. Admittedly, I’m not much of a horror movie fan. However, I vaguely remembered a character like this. Hence, I did a Google search and discovered the clown is named Pennywise. The original movie clown was not female, but this cosplay actor did a great job capturing the feel of the character.

I used the same technique as yesterday to separate the portrait from the background. I shot this wide open at f1.4, so while the face is sharply focused, the body is softer — the downside of her face jutting forward. In retrospect, I should’ve stopped down a bit. The effect of the red gel really clearly shows up on the white dress, adding another level of horror.
