Flag Lowering

UT Tower and Flag - Austin, Texas

UT Tower and Flag – Austin, Texas

After shooting the University of Texas Tower and walking west, I noticed a composition where I could include the tower and the flag. I set the Leica D-Lux 8 to about 28mm, slightly zoomed in from the widest 24mm. I was waiting for good wind action to get a nicely flapping flag.

I shot a few frames when someone came over to lower the flag. It made for a great action shot, including all the pieces—the iconic tower, the US Flag, and someone taking action. I love it when a street photograph falls into place.

The small picture makes it hard to see the person at the base of the flag pole. To see a larger version, click on the image on a computer. You can do this for all of my blog posts.
