I have one more landscape from the hike my wife and I took in Ouray, Colorado. I shot this after we reached the river and waterfall nearby and headed backtracking to our car.

Despite the large boulders on the path, a different trail went past these obstructions. You can see the fencing on the right that leads the way. We didn’t go that way.

While I had both cameras, the X-E3 and the GFX, I opted for the high-resolution medium-format GFX for these landscapes from the hike. I wasn’t shooting distant vistas and wanted instead to capture the nearby surroundings in detail. The rocks and the overhead trees form an elaborate frame surrounding the distant views. The image is about the relationship between the details nearby and the promise of more beyond.
