I mentioned several days ago that my mom splurged on our trip to Singapore in 2023, her first and probably last trip there. We flew business class on Singapore Airlines from Tokyo. We also stayed in a lovely hotel in the heart of the city, right near the bay.
The building originally served as a post office, completed in 1928. It has become a neo-classical landmark, standing in contrast to the modern skyscrapers. In 2000, it was converted into a hotel.
The room is furnished tastefully, with attention to detail and dimension. It is a far cry from my usual stay at a Hampton Inn. Although it’s small, and we chose a room that overlooks the interior atrium instead of the outside, it felt luxurious to stay there.
