Yes, I’m at another airport starting a new series. This is my home airport, ABIA, in Austin, Texas. I took this picture in October 2024, about a year ago, at the start of one of my most incredible trips. My destination was a bucket list item.

It was just after 7am, and I noticed this epic sunrise. I captured this using one of the smallest possible full-frame setups—the Sony A7C with the Samyang 35mm f2.8. That Samyang lens was the smallest auto-focusing E-Mount lens at that time. I put together the A7C as a backup to my primary camera, the Sony A7C II.

With my dual Sony system and several lenses packed into a compact backpack, I was off on an adventure. This was the first time I ever took a dedicated multi-day photographic trip. I can’t believe this was just a year ago. So much has happened since then.
