I forgot why I shot this picture. Was it the architecture? Or the girl? Either way, it’s not a particularly strong technical picture, but I like it. It’s the motion blur of the energetic girl and the gritty, timeless architecture around her.
The actual exposure wasn’t very exciting, but I did more post-processing than usual, reviving what I call a film-ish look. Something that I’ve done in the past, but it’s been a while. If you click here, you can see my previous posts with a film-ish take. Most are from 2017-2019.
While my processing has made for a more compelling picture, I also applied the technique because the timeless scene works well with the effect. I used a warm contrast 1960s Kodachrome Capture One style. While I can’t vouch for how accurate it is to the film, I like how it turned out. The added grain and muddiness increase the grittiness.
