As I recall, though my timing might be off, a Category 5 hurricane passed by Cuba. I believe it happened after our closing party. The next morning, as you can see, it was still wet but peaceful.
The wind and rain in Old Havana were modest. Nothing to indicate a major storm was brewing in the Gulf. Later, I heard that other parts of the island had some flooding in neighborhoods along the coast.
And while Hurricane Milton had minimal impact on Cuba, it unexpectedly affected my trip. I’ll explain that in tomorrow’s post.
