I’ve always liked the towering and organically sculptural Live Oak trees next to the Harry Ransom Center on the University of Texas campus. Their natural forms soften and contrast nicely against the smooth modern architecture. This modern museum is not as austere as earlier modernist works but a little nature never hurts to add a bit of humanity.
