If this year is anything like two years ago, the peak fall color in Tokyo should happen in a few weeks. I shot this photo on December 2, 2014 at the Rikugien Garden in downtown Tokyo. I love living in Austin and it was a balmy 80 degrees today, which is unseasonable, even by our standards. But, I do miss the fall color. And as a fair weather landscape photographer, I feel like I’m missing a wonderful photo opportunity, living here in the color muted, Central Texas.
In contrast to yesterday’s colorful art installations, today we have colorful natural art. They both have their place. Do you see the landscape photographer on the bridge? I thought it added an interesting touch to an otherwise pure nature photo.
I shot this photo will my super compact mirrorless, the Pentax Q7 at a 69mm equivalent. I forget the details, but given that the shutter speed was 2.5 seconds, I was most definitely using a tripod. I wonder if that guy in the photo, has a similar picture of me, with my tripod. I bet my camera was smaller though.

I bet you are right! Your camera was surely smaller 🙂
I know, you know the camera. What a fun system.
