I noticed that many of the bars and restaurants in New Orleans are far more colorful than their equivalents in Austin. No doubt to pull in the tourist crowd which, while important in Austin, must be critical there. These colorful spectacles made for excellent photography fodder which I really enjoy capturing.
I first came upon this fire themed daiquiri place on Decatur Street, which certainly demanded my attention. Later, on the same street, I noticed the icy themed place below. It was only later that I figured out they are from the same mini-chain of stores, Big Easy Daiquiris. They even serve pizza by the slice. How convenient.
I shot both with the same Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II with the 12-40mm f2.8 Pro lens, through the open doorway. Shot at 1/6 of a second to capture these at 400 and 200 ISO, respectively.
