Follower Milestone

1000 Followers

I just hit a milestone of sorts. I now have 1,000 followers on the blog. A big thank you to all who voluntarily signed up for more email.

What I don’t know is the number of real followers. I know there are a number of “fake users”. People, bots or whatever that sign up with bogus looking emails for purposes that I can’t even fathom. Recently, I’ve received a number of followers with the outlook.com domain, for example.

It’s always gratifying to meet actual blog followers in person, as well as getting comments from the dedicated. Thank you. Your opinion, whether you agree with me, or not, means a lot. Blogging is more of a solitary sport that you might imagine. You post pictures and write content — stuff that you think is interesting — but most of the time, you have no idea.

  1. Just so you know, the “outlook” follower scam is known to WordPress and if you get a lot of them, or they start to slip into you comments, you need to let them know and they will fix it. They supposedly fixed it last, but it seems to have come back. Again. Meanwhile, hey, I’m still here!

  2. Congratulations! I wish I were still in Texas so you could teach me how to manage my wordpress blog…

  3. Congratulations, that’s quite something, though I will say that I am surprised it’s not way more considering the quality of the posts you put out so regularly.
I’m interested in what the “outlook.com” follower scam is all about. I have an outlook.com domain email address though luckily, by the sounds of it, I use a different domain to subscribe to WordPress blogs.

    1. Thank you, Cedric. I’m very happy that you like the quality of my posts.

I try to have interesting photos and decent stories and I think there is a small but dedicated set of followers. But, unfortunately, I have not broken into the big time in blogging.

Perhaps, the stuff I post is not as interesting as I hoped, or my lack of promotion is hampering me or maybe it’s competition with the millions of other distractions people have these days.
