You might remember this background from a couple of days ago, where I made a portrait of Seven. Of course, Vanessa’s pose and expression are entirely different.
What I’ve come to realize is, there’s a lot of confidence and psychology required to create portraits, both for the model and photographer. Models who show confidence in their looks and poses, come out better. Photographers too need to project a certain level of confidence. There’s a dance between model and photographer. And when in synch, to the right music, out comes a great portrait. Other times, it can be a struggle.
