I mentioned that meeting the artists at EAST, East Austin Studio Tour, was the best part for me. But, a close second are the art patrons I met at the event. And, by art patrons, I’m talking about the everyday folk who support the event just by visiting, though I did see a number of people giving financial support (by buying art).
I met this group in the warren of narrow hallways that leads to the studio and gallery rooms. There were many happy people, I noticed. It’s a fun social event, but also, perhaps, because a few companies gave samples of beer, whiskey and vodka. I’m a vodka man, myself.
The black and white RAW processing that I use in Capture One is very contrasty. Usually, I dial back the effect and open up the shadows and recover details from the highlights. But not this time. For this photo, I like the look of the very stark interplay between the white hallway and dark and patterned outfits.
