During my ten minute walk from my hotel to the office, I passed by a school, just as the students where arriving. I saw wonderful interactions of kids being kids, which is probably universal. We live in different places, with different languages and cultures, but some things transcend the differences. Noticing the similarities will bring the world closer together.
With travel, I think one tends to think about the differences. How exotic or unusual a place looks. I’ve certainly done this on my blog. But ultimately, the value of travel, I think, is to discover that we are — at our core — all alike.
I love the interaction of the kids with this street vendor. I can remember, many years ago, being excited about trinkets and small toys at a store, on the way to school.
