I wouldn’t say that the DXO One is an ideal or typical street photography camera. It’s not lightning fast and the iPhone/DXO camera connection seems rather tenuous with fast movements. It’s more of a carefully compose and be methodical kind of device.
But, it does have an ace up its sleeve. Since the majority of the camera looks like a smartphone, albeit with a strange appendage, people might not think much about it. That was the case here when I snapped this picture pretty close to my subjects.
This is not an optimally framed photograph, but I like the interactions, the vivid green, and the colorful OPEN sign. I suppose with a more maneuverable camera, I might have made more images and with better balance. With the DXO One, I was happy to get this close and capture the action — stealthy in approach, which is different than my usual style of street photography.
