How does one effectively capture something inherently action oriented like dancing, in a single photograph? I find it challenging. Do I concentrate on the motion, energy or the expression? Perhaps a slow shutter speed to create motion blur? I took a lot of frames at the drum circle at this year’s Eeyore’s Birthday Party.
I selected three frames for your consideration.
Kelly is the subject dancer. I had pictures where she was looking directly at the camera but I opted for these where she appears unaware. The first picture is my favorite because of her expression.
However, I like the two pictures below for the motion, with Kelly’s hair flying energetically.
