I noticed a small music venue under the Moody Theater where they tape the Austin City Limits, the longest-running music show on American Television. A decent size crowd stood outside listening, with a denser crowd just on the other side of a modest railing. It was a small place and I could see and hear the performance from the street.
“Who’s performing?”, I asked.
“Kiefer Sutherland”
“Kiefer Sutherland has a band?”
Who’s Kiefer Sutherland? He’s a well-known actor who’s been in a bunch of movies. But, perhaps his most famous role is on the TV Series “24”, which I’ve never seen. I’m not a fan per se, but he’s famous enough that I know who he is. Not well enough apparently to know that he now sings in a band.
One website described his style as country blues. He sounded pretty good to me, with his gravelly voice. Here’s a song from YouTube.
And, while he sang well, it wasn’t enough to keep me entranced in front of the venue opening. I was more distracted by the pair of expensive and shiny buses parked right outside. Nice super-wide-angle fodder dressed up with lots of reflections and crazy colors. Crazy colors that I only enhance a tiny bit, honestly.
I’m only assuming these are the Kiefer Sutherland’s tour buses, however. But, I think it’s a strong educated guess.
