Continuing with with food hall topic from yesterday, here’s the street-level entrance. The place is called Fareground, located on the ground floor of 111 Congress Avenue, a once tired office building that’s been rejuvenated with fancy eating options.
The food hall and the adjoining large outdoor patio is sunken two stories below street grade. It forms a respite from the noise while still feeling part of the city. It seems well executed, though I have no idea how popular it is since I’m usually not downtown during lunch hours.
The tall tower is the Austonian, which I’ve mentioned several times before. This high-end condo is currently the second tallest building. The two structures are good examples of the recently upgraded architecture in Austin.
