For my last underground Singapore photo, we have the Swarovski woman watching over commuters. In many of my photos, I ordinarily don’t know what is being advertised. I quickly make images that attract my attention. I only noticed the Swarovski logo in another photograph I took seconds after this one. However, I prefer this composition because of the balanced motion blur on either side of the primary subject.
I knew Swarovski had something to do with crystals — my wife once bought a crystal Christmas ornament from Costco. But, a little research on their website revealed entire collections of jewelry and accessories.
Beyond the bold advertisement, I was attracted to the colors and the wavy architecture. I shot this at 1/4 of a second to create the motion blur that gives life to this image. Busy Singapore on the move, surrounded by glittering consumer temptations.
