I’m no marketing or branding expert, but I enjoy observing how companies and organizations portray themselves. This goes for schools too. During my college tours, I listened to their spiel. But, more importantly, I also looked at the consistency and harmony of the buildings — as well as the signage. I think it reflects on the organization.
Of all the universities that I’ve visited, including a bunch four years ago, TCU ranks at the top for consistent branding. I’ve already talked about their sandstone bricks used in all of the structures. However, their signage, fonts, and purple school color were everywhere, executed with precision.
Our school tour just happened to coincide with move-in day. Throughout campus, there were large banners identifying buildings and bold Welcome Home messaging. It added to the festiveness of the campus.
