About a week ago, when I was showing pictures of the University of Tulsa, I featured an arched entry. Here’s TCU’s version. Nothing like a series of arched windows, even neo-classical ones, to gussy up a place. Though photographically, I like the Tulsa version better.
As you can see, the scale of TCU’s buildings is bigger than Tulsa’s. It’s a larger school with some 9,500 undergraduates and another 1,500 postgraduates. The University of Tulsa has 4,300 total students with 3,100 undergraduates.
TCU is a mid-sized private school with facilities of a larger state school that is better maintained. They have a D1 sports program with a large football stadium, for example. My impression is that they seem to have the spirit of a state school, but with facilities of a well-funded private institution and most likely a more affluent student body.
