Republic Square Looking Southwest – Austin, Texas

For this last post in the series, like yesterday, I’m still in Republic Square Park — though looking southwest. Beyond the mass of glass towers, the setting sun adding some pastel goodness to the sky.

The 360 Condominiums, the tower with the spire, was completed in 2008. All the other buildings were completed within the last few years. The 360 Condos was the tallest in Austin for a couple of years until the Austonian eclipsed it in 2010. Now it ranks number 4.

The Independent is the tower on the very right, next to the 360 Condos. It’s currently the tallest in Austin but doesn’t look so here since it’s farther away. As you might have guessed, I’m using the Fotodiox tilt-shift adapter to make the buildings look properly upright. That’s been the common theme of this series. I’m using that adapter to correct the perspective distortion, which I’ve enjoyed for some odd reason.

I’ll inevitably post more shift correct photos in the future. But the blog is moving out of Austin, and Texas, for that matter. The posts will jump to the west coast tomorrow. Featuring photos that I took over a year ago.
