Things here in Central Texas are finally returning to normal. It was 70 degrees today, and it felt more like a regular winter afternoon. I met with neighbors to exchange stories of our recent cold and no-power ordeal. I heard some people in my community had busted water pipes with a foot of water inside. Others suffered from a lack of water for days. Two families came over to our house for hot showers and to fill up multiple containers of water.
We still have to boil our water for drinking. However, that’s about the only inconvenience now. There are still places in Austin where people have no water service.
I mostly hunkered down in the house during the deep freeze. But, I did go out for photography. I made it to a park and took more pictures of trees surrounded by snow. Like last month’s snow mini-series, I’ve started another mini-series of black and white snow-covered trees. Finally, some artistic images, rather than the boring documentary photos from the last several days.
