The pier area in Santa Monica was packed. I didn’t do much street photography but captured these two hot dog vendors at the mouth of the road leading to the beach. They were right near the famous Santa Monica Yacht Harbor sign.
The food smelled enticing, and I would have considered trying one if it weren’t for our dinner plans. I don’t know if this is typical in LA, but they seem a heck of a lot better than New York City. Boiled hot dogs in a pushcart can’t hold a candled to grilled dogs with onions. Wrapped in bacon, what could be better?
I accidentally got the girl in the frame, which adds to the composition. Not only is there a sense of depth, but I like how she is looking at the food. I only wished I used a 50mm f1.4 equivalent. The kit lens, even at f2.8, doesn’t blur the distracting background enough.
