For my second blue hour photo in this mini-series, I have telephone poles. How exciting! However, I think the blue hour and the touch of sunset color on the horizon add an artistic touch. Or at least, some visual interest. Everything urban looks good at this time.
I have some strong opinions about telephone poles, believe it or not. I think they are fine for the countryside. In the city, however, I think they look horrible. They really give off a third-world vibe. The city should be sleek with underground utilities. It’s no place for wooden poles.
On the other hand, as an urban landscape, I like them when well composed. Here we have the telephone pole and the jumble of cables as the subject. I made sure to include the adjoining ones and the mystery of telephone cables reaching out-of-frame.
