I’ve talked about The Getty Center’s sprawling hilltop campus. Here, you can see the complex of buildings beyond the well-manicured gardens.
Looking at the visitor’s guide, I have pieced together the surrounding structures. I’m standing in the museum courtyard, which I featured yesterday, facing southwest. I’m looking between the entrance hall on the right and the Exhibitions Pavilion on the left.
Off in the distance is the Research Institute. That building has its own separate exhibitions, a lecture hall, and a reading room. What you see is just a small slice of the gardens. Which extends down the hill towards the south.
Photographically, I used the two structures on either side to frame the view. It adds more context and visual interest.
