Here’s the second of my street art mini-series from Kaka’ako, an industrial area just east of downtown Honolulu. This looks very Hawaiian to me, for obvious reasons. Though I can’t help but think about Find Nemo, the 2003 computer-animated movie for Pixar.
I didn’t do a comprehensive assessment for all the murals. However, many of them seem to be concentrated around Auahi Street. It’s not a very big area, and I searched around on Google Maps’ StreetView. I found yesterday’s artwork on Koula Street.
Doing a StreetView tour of this area was fascinating. The artwork seems to change with regularity, and while I found this building, the mural was different.
