Here’s one last picture that I took at the Precision Camera Winter Expo with the Fujifilm GFX 100S and the GF30mm f3.5 lens. An unremarkable photo except for the person behind the counter.
I was extremely pleased and surprised to meet Charles Garcia at this year’s expo. Charles worked for Olympus before the big purge. The new company laid off most of its employees, and unfortunately, Charles was also let go. This all happened during the pandemic, and I had lost track of his whereabouts.
I’m happy to report that Charles is now working for Tamron and doing well. We spent some time catching up. In fact, a few people I know from Precision have moved into industry positions, including Canon and Sony. These expo events are a great way to meet my old friends.
