Rounding out my walking tour of Honolulu, we are looking up at towering condos and palms — a combination I really love. We also get a very tropical blue and green color pallet. These buildings are new-ish, though not as recent as the Ward condos that I showed yesterday.
We are east of the Ward development but west of the giant Ala Moana Shopping Mall. Walking east on Queen Street, it unknowingly turned into Waimanu. A noticeable change from used surfboards and a transmission repair shop.
The day started at the Kaka’ako Farmer’s Market, which I covered a month ago. We continued through the warehouses and new development in this changing part of Honolulu. Finally, a few minutes east of here, we rested and ate at the mall. A good 20,000 step walking tour, for exercise and to snap pictures. A worthwhile change of pace from the typical Waikiki Beach scene.
