Whenever possible, I like to give an accurate assessment of a place. Waikiki, while certainly upscale with fancy name-brand stores, isn’t uniformly so. There are expensive condos and mid-priced ones. There are even modest living arrangements. In this mini-series, I’ll showcase a few I found.
As I explored Waikiki, I came upon this area with houses, duplexes, and small apartments. Most on this side of the street looked low-priced — at least relative to Hawaii. Compared to most of the world, however. These structures probably cost more than most.
There are some worthwhile architectural details in this duplex. Under the right circumstances, I can see it looking spiffy with a renovation. Though, given the price of land. Such a low-density structure may no longer make economic sense.
