We are back at the Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market on my second visit. For obvious reasons, I struck up a conversation with a fellow photographer. Not much gear talk. More about photography.
Chas grew up in Florida. However, being in the military, he traveled all over. He retired to Hawaii and became a full-time photographer. I have much admiration for professional photographers. It’s one thing, like me, to be a hobbyist. It’s another to make a living out of it.
Chas made a lot of sales during the 20 minutes I was there. He said that I might have brought him luck. Selling at these shows is unpredictable. The day before, for example, he made only one sale the entire day. Regardless, it’s evident that he knows his customers. His work is targeted at tourists and locals interested in Hawaii’s beauty.
Here is Chas’ website.
