I explored all over Kaka’ako by myself after my second visit to the Saturday Farmers’ Market. I probably walked about four hours. I zig-zagged and eventually circled back to the start, surprised to see the origin for that day.
This parking lot doesn’t look like much. But several hours earlier, it was bustling with people and vendors. The site of the farmers’ market that I visited earlier. Surprised to see it in its stripped format, devoid of any life.
I started my Kaka’ako coverage in December with this post at the market. The mural boldly kept a watchful eye on the market visitors — protecting them. Now, we have an empty parking lot shot in wide-angle. Without telephoto compression and social interaction, all the magic is lost.
