Fake Luxury – New York, New York

These “entrepreneurs” were all over Manhattan, offering a vital service to tourists. Why shop at those pricy boutiques when you can have “the look” for significantly less? Right?

I’m not expert enough to spot fakes vs. the real ones. I once heard there is a class of knockoffs called best fakes or super fakes — units that are extra realistic.

I briefly thought it amusing to buy a fake Louis Vuitton wallet as a joke. The quoted price still seemed high, and I didn’t want to bargain. With more time, it would’ve been fun to comparison shop different street vendors. I loved to haggle for the best deal when I was a teenager in New York. Now I just take pictures.
